Independent Schools

The support we give to schools is inevitably defined by the relationship the institution has with the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS). What is your current status?

Whether you’re committed to TPS or are planning on undertaking a review, we can help.

Thinking about a review? We have worked with over 50 independent schools that have assessed the feasibility of their future membership of TPS. We have experience of schools leaving, remaining, and commencing a phased withdrawal from TPS. For some schools, we’ve delivered the education to teachers as part of a review. For others, we’ve worked with the Governors and Leadership Teams to plan the review from start to finish, where we can design, source, and implement an alternative benefits package where necessary.

We can provide you with contact details of bursars who have worked with us if you’d like to better understand our approach.

If you’re still fully committed to TPS, we can provide education to teachers and support staff, as well as benchmark the benefits you offer your support staff.

Education can either be pension-focused or about any financial topic you can think of. We deliver support for groups and individuals, remotely and face to face, delivering workshops, webinars, and clinics, accompanied by action plans. Education about the benefits you offer is essential to ensure the money you are spending is appreciated.

Regarding wider benefits, from needs analysis to design and sourcing, we want to make sure what you are doing is effective and efficient.

Having already undertaken a review of TPS, are you maintaining the status quo or considering a further review of your ongoing participation?

We can help with a review, both in terms of education to teachers or the process and wider consultancy regarding benefit provision.

Regarding the benefits you offer outside of TPS to teachers and support staff, we want to make sure what you are doing is effective and efficient.

Regardless of their benefits package, we can provide education to your entire workforce. Education can either be pension-focused or about any financial topic you can think of. We deliver support for groups and individuals, remotely and face to face, delivering workshops, webinars, and clinics, accompanied by action plans. Education about the benefits you offer is essential to ensure the money you are spending is appreciated.

We provide ongoing support to schools across the full cycle of each employee benefit you offer or are thinking about offering.

From needs analysis to design and sourcing, we want to make sure what you are doing is effective and efficient.

Do you know if you’re paying more than you need to for each benefit itself or for the broking and maintenance fees you’re paying to your current adviser? When did you last review your processes and procedures? Are your employees getting regular updates about what you offer, including the ancillary benefits that often accompany protection like Death in Service and Income Protection cover?

We also provide education to both teachers and support staff. This can either be pension-focused or any financial topic you can think of. We deliver support for groups and individuals, remotely and face to face, delivering workshops, webinars, and clinics, accompanied by action plans. Education about the benefits you offer is essential to ensure the money you are spending is appreciated.

State Schools and Trusts

The Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) and the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) provide benefits that compare favourably to almost every UK workplace pension scheme. In our experience, people working in schools and colleges are clear that they have a good pension scheme but often don’t understand why or how to make the best use of the choices open to them.

Our work with state-funded educational institutions tends to focus on the education of both teachers and support staff. This can either be pension-focused or can cover general money topics and financial wellbeing. Pension education tends to be particularly important at the start and end of a career given the important decisions that individuals must make at those times.

We deliver support for groups and individuals, remotely and face to face, delivering workshops, webinars and clinics, accompanied by action plans.

The education support we provide is not regulated financial advice that can be given to individuals and is not covered by the FCA rules.
