When you employ someone for the first time, setting up a workplace pension is one of several important new responsibilities. However, it is not always easy to know where to begin or what needs to be completed.
The idea for this webinar came from a conversation with a business owner I had helped when he employed his first members of staff. He explained how useful it would have been to attend a straightforward webinar about workplace pensions before becoming an employer.
With that in mind, I have created a free online webinar specifically for people who are hiring, or preparing to hire, their first employee.
What will the webinar cover?
During the webinar, I will explain:
- Your workplace pension and auto-enrolment responsibilities
- How to choose and set up a suitable pension scheme
- Which employees need to be assessed and enrolled
- How pension contributions are calculated
- How payroll works with your pension provider
- The information you must give employees
- Record-keeping requirements
- Common mistakes and how to avoid them
The aim is to give new employers a clear and practical understanding of what they need to do, when they need to do it and where the different responsibilities sit.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions during the session.
